On December 6, 2025, in Paso Robles, CA, a fatal accident occurred when a box truck collided with a man’s car at a traffic light on Highway 46. The impact of the collision led to the demise of the local man. The accident took place at approximately 5:30 a.m. At the crossroads of Golden Hill Rd and westbound Hwy 46, as stated by Paso Robles Police, authorities have stated that the individual involved, a 63-year-old resident of Paso Robles, was halted at a red light in a four-door Lexus when a 2017 Freightliner box truck collided with the rear of his vehicle. A truck going westbound did not slow down when approaching the intersection, leading to a forceful collision from behind. Emergency personnel from Paso Robles Fire and Rescue swiftly arrived and tried to save lives. Despite their efforts, it was determined that the Lexus driver had passed away due to his injuries. Meanwhile, Gean Marco HuamanCastro, a 25-year-old from Bakersfield who was driving the box truck, stayed at the scene and was subsequently arrested. The Paso Robles Police took HuamanCastro into custody on charges of vehicular manslaughter. He was taken to San Luis Obispo County Jail for processing. Officials confirmed that drugs or alcohol do not seem to have been factors in the accident. The westbound lanes of Highway 46 were closed for a time on Thursday morning while police carried out a complete investigation, spoke to witnesses, and removed the debris from the road.
