Caspar, CA (March 10, 2026) – A delivery truck was involved in a multi-vehicle collision that closed Highway 1 on Monday afternoon, March 9, near the Caspar Creek Bridge in Mendocino County. Emergency responders arrived at the southbound lanes of Highway 1, just north of County Road 409, around 2:55 p.m. Initial reports mentioned a tow truck and a sedan, but the crash was later verified to involve three vehicles, including a delivery truck. Fuel was reported to have spilled in the southbound lane. At least one person was injured in the crash. Officials reported that one patient was airlifted by medical helicopter to a hospital outside the area. Information on the individual’s condition was not released right away. The crash closed both lanes of the highway as crews cleared the scene and handled the fuel spill. The road stayed closed for several hours before reopening later that evening.
