(San Marcos, CA) Late Saturday night on December 14, a pedestrian died in a crash on San Marcos Boulevard with a pickup truck, whose driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Deputies arrived around 11:45 p.m. to the 900 block of West San Marcos Blvd. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the pedestrian lying in the westbound lanes. Even with lifesaving attempts by deputies and paramedics, first responders declared the victim dead at 11:58 p.m. The identity of the individual has not been disclosed yet. The driver of the maroon Ford F-150 remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Deputies concluded that he was intoxicated by alcohol.
