A significant crash between two cars has led to severe injuries on December 4, 2025, in Merced County, California. The incident occurred on State Route 165 at the junction with Turner Ave. The accident happened at approximately 5:20 a.m. The roadway was temporarily closed, leading to a major emergency response. California Highway Patrol logs indicate that the incident involved a white Hyundai Genesis and a silver Nissan Altima. A vehicle is said to have swerved into the opposing lane, resulting in a frontal collision. Emergency medical services arrived at the location, and the collision was reclassified as a significant injury occurrence around 6:28 a. The accident fully obstructed SR-165 for a while as tow trucks and first responders worked to remove the debris. The authorities cleared the road for use again shortly before 6:45 a.m. The reason for the collision is still being looked into.
