Hemet, CA (October 22, 2025) – Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run collision that left a pedestrian injured Saturday night in Hemet, according to dispatch logs from the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place on October 19 near 40362 Whittier Ave at approximately 7:58 p.m. Emergency personnel responded to reports of a pedestrian, described as a female, lying in the roadway following a vehicle-versus-pedestrian incident.
Initial details suggest the involved vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived. The pedestrian was found injured and received treatment at the scene before being transported to a local medical facility. The extent of her injuries has not been officially confirmed but was described as significant.
Authorities used the Flock license plate reader system to track a possible suspect vehicle, with surveillance data pinpointing westbound movement on nearby roadways shortly before the crash. Around 9:52 p.m., a male individual reportedly walked into the Hemet Police Department and claimed he may have been involved in the incident. An investigation is underway to determine his role and verify the identity of the vehicle involved.
The suspect vehicle, believed to be connected with the crash, was later towed as evidence. No arrests were reported at the time of the incident, but officers continued to collect data and question individuals related to the case.
All lanes in the vicinity were temporarily affected as the scene was processed for evidence. The California Highway Patrol and local law enforcement are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run.
We hope for a full recovery for the injured pedestrian and urge anyone with information to come forward.
