When a deadly crash causes extensive vehicle damage and fire, investigators frequently examine the Basic Speed Law. This law mandates that drivers maintain speeds appropriate for the road and traffic conditions. Even without verified speed data, officers will assess skid marks, impact severity, and road layout to evaluate if unsafe speed played a role in the Camelback Road crash.
