(Desert Hot Springs, CA) One individual was killed Sunday evening, February 15, following a head-on crash between two vehicles on Indian Canyon Drive. The California Highway Patrol reported the incident around 4:56 p.m. At the crossroads of North Indian Canyon Drive and Pierson Boulevard. A witness informed officers that a white Honda Civic collided head-on with a gray Lexus in the road. According to authorities, one of the vehicles burst into flames after the collision. Emergency personnel arrived on the scene and started evaluating the people involved. According to the CHP’s online log, one individual was declared deceased at a hospital at approximately 7:40 p.m. Authorities did not promptly disclose the victim’s name, age, or hometown. The information was still unavailable while authorities notified the victim’s next of kin. Investigators did not specify which vehicle the victim was in or what caused the head-on collision. Information on speed, lane position, and traffic signal status was not disclosed.
