Los Angeles, CA (March 9, 2026) – A woman was killed in a rollover accident late Sunday night in downtown Los Angeles. The crash happened at approximately 9:34 p.m. On March 8, at the Washington Boulevard and Flower Street intersection, emergency units arrived following reports of a two-vehicle collision. Early reports indicate that a woman driving a gray vehicle ran a red light into the intersection, striking a car heading south on Flower Street. The collision flipped her vehicle onto its roof in the road. Responders performed lifesaving measures at the scene before transporting her to a nearby hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced dead. The driver of the other vehicle was transported from the scene with moderate injuries, although further details on his condition have not been disclosed. Officials are still investigating the cause of the crash. We offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim and hope for a quick and complete recovery for the injured driver. Why Red-Light Violations Can Lead to Serious Intersection Crashes. Intersections like Washington Boulevard and Flower Street are engineered to handle traffic flowing in multiple directions simultaneously. Traffic lights regulate safe vehicle entry into intersections. If a driver proceeds through on a red light, other vehicles could already be crossing on their green light.
