El Cajon, CA (March 9, 2026) – A severe collision at the Jamacha Road and Gustavo Street intersection in El Cajon on Sunday evening sent three individuals to the hospital. The incident took place on March 8. Emergency responders arrived at the site and discovered two vehicles that had crashed at the intersection. One vehicle was severed in half in the crash, its parts strewn across the road. Officials stated that the car was speeding northbound on Jamacha Road when it veered into the southbound lanes and struck another vehicle. The crash inflicted substantial damage on at least one of the involved vehicles. Two teenagers and one adult sustained injuries in the collision and were transported to local hospitals for care. Authorities stated that the injuries were not deemed life-threatening. The crash is still being investigated. Our thoughts are with the injured as they get treatment and recover. How High-Speed Crashes Can Cause Serious Vehicle Damage. Roads like Jamacha Road typically handle consistent traffic flow through residential and commercial zones. As vehicles move at higher speeds, the force produced in a collision can greatly amplify the damage. High-speed crashes may cause vehicle frames to shatter or crumple, particularly upon hitting another car or stationary objects.
