San Diego, CA (December 22, 2025) – Two elderly women were injured in a traffic crash in San Diego’s Hillcrest neighborhood on Sunday afternoon, per emergency medical dispatch reports. The incident took place around 4:50 p.m. on Dec. 21 close to Fifth Avenue. A 95-year-old woman and a 76-year-old woman were passengers in the same car when it was hit on the driver’s side while making a left turn. The collision made the vehicle spin, but caused no major intrusion into the passenger compartment. Both women had their seatbelts on, and the airbags deployed. The 95-year-old back-seat passenger and the 76-year-old driver both experienced mild chest pain, probably due to seatbelt strain from the collision. Neither woman became unconscious, and both stayed fully alert and oriented after the collision. Emergency responders observed that both patients were able to walk at the scene and exited the vehicle on their own. They were taken to a nearby hospital for additional assessment and treatment. We wish both women a smooth recovery and praise the emergency teams for their swift action.
