Moorpark, CA (March 1, 2026) – Two women were killed in a deadly head-on crash on northbound Highway 23 south of Los Angeles Avenue on Saturday, February 28. The incident was reported just after 2:00 p.m. The incident involved a Chevrolet Silverado and a Lexus ES 350. Investigators stated that the Silverado, traveling southbound, veered into the center median, lost control, crossed the barrier, and entered the northbound lanes. The truck collided head-on with the Lexus. A woman in the Silverado passenger seat was thrown from the vehicle and declared dead on-site, as was the woman driving the Lexus. Both hailed from Los Angeles County. Two others sustained serious injuries and were transported to a hospital. One more individual sustained minor injuries. The northbound highway lanes were closed for several hours, with traffic rerouted at Tierra Rejada Rd until one lane reopened and vehicles resumed flowing. No additional information has been provided on the circumstances that caused the loss of control.
