Concord, CA (January 29, 2026) – The California Highway Patrol reported that one person was injured and taken to a hospital after a two-vehicle collision Tuesday night on the 680 Freeway near the toll plaza in Concord. The incident happened around 9:33 p.m. On January 27th. California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash near the toll plaza. Although the precise details surrounding the accident are still uncertain, emergency teams mounted a coordinated effort at the scene. Paramedics provided on-site care to at least one injured person before transferring them to Concord Medical Center for additional assessment. No details have been disclosed about the nature or extent of the injuries. Traffic in the vicinity likely faced delays while authorities cleared the road and probed the cause of the accident. The names of those involved have not been released publicly. CHP is still investigating the incident to identify the factors that led to the crash.
