(Long Beach, CA) A woman died Tuesday morning, January 27, after being hit by a vehicle while crossing a major roadway in a westbound PCH crash. Long Beach Police Department officers responded around 5:57 a.m. to Gundry Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway. Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman struck by a pickup truck, suffering severe injuries. Police reported that the driver stayed at the scene and promptly provided medical assistance to her. Upon the paramedics’ arrival, they took the woman to a hospital, where she died later. Authorities have not disclosed her identity until next of kin are notified. Detectives stated that an initial investigation found a 2024 Chevy Colorado was heading west on Pacific Coast Highway. Meanwhile, the woman was crossing the road outside a marked crosswalk when the Chevy hit her. Investigators could not ascertain if speed, distraction, or impairment contributed to the crash. Police stated that multiple factors are still unclear while detectives keep examining the evidence. Analysis of the Westbound PCH Crash.
