Winnetka, CA (April 12, 2026) – A hit-and-run collision at Sherman Way and Winnetka Avenue on Friday night claimed the life of a pedestrian. The crash occurred around 10 p.m. On April 10, emergency units responded to reports of a vehicle hitting a person. When responders arrived, they discovered an adult male lying in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. Initial investigation shows that a black Chevrolet Camaro heading south on Winnetka Avenue hit the man while he was crossing outside of a designated crosswalk. While the victim lay on the ground, a white Ford truck struck him as well. Both drivers fled the scene without stopping. The injured pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed yet. Officials are still probing the reason behind the collision, with additional information to be shared as it emerges. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the victim’s family. What Can Occur in Multi-Vehicle Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Cases. Pedestrian accidents with multiple vehicles involved tend to be particularly serious. If a person is hit and stays in the road, the chance of being struck again rises, especially at night or in locations with consistent traffic. Visibility frequently contributes to such accidents.
