A traffic collision was reported Aug. 29, 2026, on southbound U.S. 101 just south of Cat Canyon Road in California. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as involving unknown injuries.
The collision was reported at approximately 4:39 p.m. The location was identified as southbound U.S. 101 near the Cat Canyon Road area, within the Santa Maria CHP area.
A later CHP update indicated that a vehicle was on the right-hand shoulder of southbound U.S. 101, just south of Cat Canyon Road. The update did not identify the vehicle type, color or number of vehicles involved.
The CHP update also indicated no additional traffic hazard at that location. The dispatch information did not provide further details about injuries, medical treatment, the circumstances of the collision or whether a tow was required.
