The incident happened around 2:14 p.m. On Monday, April 13, along the southbound lanes of the freeway just south of Saticoy Street in the Sun Valley neighborhood. Reports show that the van lost control and spun out near Whitsett Ave amid severe weather with heavy rain and thunderstorms. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to help the vehicle’s occupants. Two adults and eight children were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, with all reported in fair condition after the crash. The incident resulted in the closure of three left lanes, leading to traffic backups while crews attended the scene. Further information on the factors contributing to the crash has not yet been disclosed. Officials are still probing the incident’s cause, with additional details to follow as they emerge.
