San Diego, CA (October 20, 2025) – A woman sustained serious injuries following a two-car collision Friday night in the El Cerrito neighborhood, according to a report from the San Diego Police Department.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of El Cajon Blvd and Dayton St. Authorities stated that a 35-year-old man driving a Tesla Model Y was heading eastbound on El Cajon Blvd when he attempted a left turn onto Dayton St. During the turn, the Tesla crossed into the path of an oncoming Honda Civic, which had the right of way traveling westbound through the intersection.
The resulting impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles and left the driver of the Honda, a 24-year-old woman, seriously injured. Emergency medical services transported her to a nearby hospital, where she is currently being treated for a fractured left femur and a lacerated liver.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews provided assistance at the scene as investigators worked to assess the circumstances surrounding the crash. At this time, no citations or arrests have been reported.
