Oakland, CA (September 28, 2025) – On Friday evening, a 63-year-old man on an electric bike suffered fatal injuries in a multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of 16th Street and Miller Avenue, as reported by the Oakland Police Department. The accident happened at approximately 6:20 in the evening. The incident involved two cars and a rider on an e-bike. Officials stated that the bicyclist was headed south on Miller Avenue when he entered the intersection and crashed into a Ford SUV traveling east on 16th Street. The first impact led the cyclist to collide with a Honda sedan heading west on 16th Street. Emergency medical teams responded and took the injured cyclist to a nearby hospital. Although attempts were made to rescue him, he was subsequently declared dead. The drivers of both vehicles involved in the accident stayed at the location and completely cooperated with the investigation. No further injuries have been reported. The investigation into the events that led to the accident is ongoing. The authorities have withheld the identity of the deceased until the next of kin have been informed.
