Modesto, CA (September 29, 2025) – Officials in the Modesto region are looking into a heartbreaking bike accident that resulted in a fatality early on Monday. The accident occurred on State Route 33 near East Marshall Road at approximately 4:37 a.m. This resulted in a substantial reaction from emergency services. As per the dispatch logs from the California Highway Patrol’s Modesto division, the event entailed a vehicle colliding with a cyclist on SR-33. Emergency services, including Cal Fire, were promptly alerted and arrived quickly following the report to provide assistance. Regardless of their attempts to save him, the cyclist died from his injuries at the location of the incident. Initial reports from the CHP indicate that a 27-year-old woman was driving the vehicle involved. Clues found at the location resulted in the seizure of both the car and the bicycle for further investigation. Tow trucks were summoned to move both vehicles as part of collecting evidence. The road was briefly shut down while investigators examined the scene and recorded details of the crash, but it was reopened to traffic by 6:48 a.m. Officials from the CHP are still looking into the events that preceded the deadly accident, examining factors like lighting, visibility, and speed in that area of SR-33. We sincerely extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of the cyclist who tragically lost their life in this incident.
