What Information Is Commonly Reviewed After a Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision? After a major accident with multiple people involved, investigators usually collect data from various sources to gain a clearer picture of the events. This often encompasses vehicle locations, road markings, eyewitness statements, and any available video from surveillance or dash cams. Medical reports can further help establish the severity of injuries and reconstruct the order of events. In incidents with multiple occupants, investigators typically try to establish each person’s seating position and whether they were using any safety restraints. Weather conditions, visibility, traffic patterns, and vehicle damage can also supply valuable information. As additional details emerge, these insights can help reconstruct a clearer understanding of how the crash occurred and why its consequences were so serious.
