Los Angeles, CA (April 4, 2026) – A semitruck and a sedan collided on the eastbound 210 Freeway near Sunland Boulevard in the Sunland area Friday night, killing two people. The crash was reported shortly before 10 p.m. on April 3, a Friday. An initial investigation revealed that a Freightliner tractor-trailer, operated by 43-year-old Hardev Singh from Manteca, collided with a stationary Honda Accord on the freeway’s right shoulder. A 35-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man in the Honda were declared dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released their identities while notifying their families. The semitruck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. He wasn’t taken to the hospital. Traffic was heavily disrupted as eastbound freeway lanes were closed for around three hours while crews removed the wreckage. Initial reports of a third death were later revised, verifying that only two individuals perished in the incident. Officials are still probing the crash’s cause, with further information to be shared promptly upon availability. Our heartfelt sympathies go out to the victims’ families. What Factors Are Often Reviewed in Freeway Shoulder Crashes? Incidents where vehicles are stationary on the freeway shoulder frequently prompt concerns regarding visibility and driver attentiveness. At highway speeds, even a momentary lapse in attention can lead to severe consequences, particularly when a vehicle is stopped near live lanes. Lighting and hazard lights influence a stationary car’s visibility to oncoming drivers.
