Child Passenger Injuries After Early Morning Crashes. Accidents involving young children call for thorough medical evaluations, even if injuries initially seem minor. Children may not always articulate pain clearly, so physicians might check for indications of head, neck, chest, or internal injuries. Crashes in the early morning can also introduce extra hazards on the roads. Dim lighting, poor visibility, and sparser traffic can influence drivers’ judgments of distance and speed. Intersections can be particularly hazardous when vehicles approach from various directions. When a patrol vehicle is involved in a crash, the incident may attract a bigger emergency response.
