A traffic collision with unknown injuries was reported Aug. 28 on northbound Interstate 880 at the State Route 237 offramp in the San Jose area. The location was described as the northbound I-880 on-ramp to the Calaveras offramp.
The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a traffic collision with injuries not immediately known. The dispatch information did not specify how many vehicles were involved or describe the vehicles.
By 2:54 p.m., CHP reported that a lane closure was causing heavy traffic in the area. The closure affected traffic near the I-880 and SR 237 interchange.
A request was made for police assistance, with an estimated arrival time of less than 10 minutes. The available CHP update did not provide additional information about injuries, the vehicles, or when the lane closure would end.
