Jurupa Valley, CA (April 18, 2026) – A brush fire at the southern end of Jurupa Valley injured three people and led to evacuations in a nearby residential neighborhood. The fire was initially reported shortly after 4 p.m. On Wednesday, April 15, near Yearling Way and Baldwin Avenue east of the Van Buren Boulevard corridor, flames spread through medium vegetation close to homes, prompting a major emergency response. Aerial drops of retardant slowed the fire’s advance, enabling ground teams to construct containment lines. By Thursday morning, the fire had grown to approximately 33 acres and remained about 70% contained. One individual sustained a broken arm during evacuation, and two others suffered smoke inhalation. All three were transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Evacuation orders for surrounding streets were subsequently lifted, with road access restored once crews had secured the area.
