Julian, CA (October 14, 2025) – A motorcyclist died Sunday afternoon following a tragic head-on collision on State Route 79, north of KQ Ranch Road, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The deadly incident took place around 4:40 p.m. on the 12th of October. Officials stated that a 49-year-old individual was traveling north on SR-79 on a 2006 Yamaha R6 when, for reasons that are still being examined, he veered across the solid double-yellow lines into oncoming traffic. A motorcycle crashed head-on into a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado that was towing a travel trailer in the southbound lane. The collision resulted in the rider being thrown off the motorcycle. Even with attempts to save him, the man died from his injuries at the location. The individual’s identity remains undisclosed to the public while awaiting notification to their family. The 37-year-old driver of the Silverado emerged from the accident unscathed. At the time of the accident, it was reported that there were no additional passengers in the vehicle or trailer. According to CHP officers, there is no indication that impairment played a role in the crash. Authorities are still looking into the factors that might have caused the rider to leave their lane, such as speed or the condition of the road. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the loved ones of the motorcyclist during this very challenging time.
