(San Diego, CA) A 6-year-old boy died Saturday afternoon, January 17, after a hit-and-run driver struck him while he was biking in a collision on Pacific Beach Drive. San Diego police reported the incident happened around 3:45 p.m. while the child was riding eastward on the 1500 block of Pacific Beach Drive. According to officers, the boy crossed the west alley in the 4000 block of Ingraham Street. At that instant, a car turning into the alley hit him. San Diego Police Officer Jose Perales stated that a 32-year-old woman was driving eastbound on Pacific Beach Drive. Upon turning, she hit the boy, sending the child tumbling off his bicycle. According to police, the driver paused momentarily before speeding southbound through the alley. Consequently, she struck the child with her vehicle before speeding away from the scene. Paramedics rushed the boy to a hospital, where physicians declared him deceased despite attempts at lifesaving measures. Authorities have named the boy as Hudson Stephen O’Loughlin. Investigators subsequently found the suspect’s vehicle in National City.
