The crash location was identified as the eastbound I-80 connection to eastbound Highway 4. CHP classified the incident as a violation involving a collision and indicated that no injuries were reported.
A later dispatch update at about 10:25 p.m. stated that the information had been copied and relayed through a law-enforcement landline. The update also gave an estimated arrival time of about five minutes.
