A traffic collision was reported at about 3:45 p.m. Aug. 28 on westbound Interstate 580 near the San Ramon Road off-ramp in California. The California Highway Patrol classified the incident as a collision with injuries unknown.
The crash location was described as westbound I-580 just east of San Ramon Road. CHP dispatch information did not specify the number or types of vehicles involved.
By 3:56 p.m., traffic in the area was reported to be heavy. A CHP update said efforts were being made to move the vehicles out of the traffic lanes.
