The collision location was described as westbound I-580 just east of San Ramon Road. CHP dispatch information did not include confirmed details about the vehicles involved or any reported injuries.
By 3:56 p.m., traffic in the area was described as heavy. CHP personnel were working to move the vehicles out of the lanes, with a break in the response affirmed while that effort continued.
The available dispatch update did not document a lane closure, ambulance response, fire-department response or towing request. The latest information indicated that efforts were focused on clearing the vehicles from the westbound lanes and managing the resulting traffic impact.
