(Los Angeles, CA) An accident on Victory Boulevard in Reseda early Monday, December 29, injured four people, including two police officers. The crash occurred around 1 a.m. close to Victory and Reseda boulevards. According to LAPD officials, the officers responded to a call involving an assault with a deadly weapon. While operating their patrol vehicle with lights and sirens activated, it collided with a civilian automobile. Both police officers and two people from the other vehicle were hospitalized with minor injuries. No arrests have occurred, and investigators are still examining the cause of the crash. Overview of the Victory Boulevard Accident. When police cars respond to emergencies, investigators frequently consult the Emergency Vehicle Right-of-Way Law. This law mandates that civilian drivers yield or pull over to the right when emergency vehicles approach with their lights and sirens activated. Figuring out how both vehicles entered the intersection can help determine if this rule contributed to the Victory Boulevard accident. Additionally, officers might consider the Basic Speed Law.
