The accident happened at approximately 2:21 p.m. on October 26, 2024, along the northbound lane of Monterey Road right before the intersection with Tully Road. Under a Delta-level alert, which signifies a high-priority medical emergency, emergency units from Engine 26 rushed to the scene. The situation was dire as a 40-year-old woman had a severe head injury and a 50-year-old man was battling a critical chest injury, according to the dispatchers. Five individuals were found injured at the scene, including additional victims. Immediately available details about the severity of the remaining injuries were not disclosed. The crash led to the blocking of the first and second lanes on Monterey Road, necessitating traffic control while medics treated and prioritized patients. Firefighters asked for additional resources as necessary according to the number of people needing assistance.
