A crash on the Santa Ana Freeway in Los Angeles, California, involving a sedan and a big rig led to the fatal accident of 71-year-old Cesar Biteranta in Boyle Heights on Monday afternoon, November 17th. The California Highway Patrol reported that the collision took place around 12:50 p.m. on the northbound 5 Freeway immediately south of Indiana Street. A collision took place on the northbound lanes’ right side, involving a car and a large truck with unclear circumstances. Margaret Stewart, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department, stated that paramedics declared Biteranta deceased at the scene. Officials did not announce any further injuries. Emergency personnel helped retrieve the Biteranta’s remains as investigators began to remove the debris. The northbound Santa Ana Freeway experienced significant traffic delays in the afternoon due to lane closures that lasted for several hours.
