Cathedral City, CA (January 31, 2026) – A deadly crash killed a local man in Cathedral City. The incident took place shortly after 9:30 p.m. In the 35000 block of Cathedral Canyon Dr., a high-speed rear-end collision between two vehicles left one person dead. The Cathedral City Police Department reports that a northbound vehicle, traveling at excessive speed, struck the rear of another vehicle. The impact’s force made one of the vehicles flip over. Sadly, the driver of the overturned vehicle wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and suffered fatal injuries. Cathedral City Fire and Rescue emergency responders arrived at the scene and tried to provide aid, but the driver was declared dead on site. He is identified as 29-year-old Bryan Verduzco from Cathedral City. The two people in the second vehicle involved in the crash were checked at the scene and reported no injuries. Officials are still investigating the factors that caused the collision. No additional details have been made available yet.
