Brentwood, CA (April 20, 2026) – Six individuals were injured in a boating accident early Sunday morning, April 19, amid a high school fishing tournament in Brentwood. The incident occurred shortly before 7:00 a.m. In the San Joaquin Delta, roughly three-quarters of a mile south of Orwood Resort. Reports indicate that one boat had come to a stop on the water when another vessel collided with it from behind. The two boats belonged to a student fishing competition that included high school teams and adult operators. Passengers were rescued from the water by a nearby boat prior to the arrival of emergency services. Four injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for care. A teenager sustained broken ribs and a punctured lung, while an adult was hospitalized overnight. Every boat involved had two teenage participants and one adult operator. Additional information on the other injuries has not been released. The incident is still being investigated. We extend our sympathies to those impacted during their ongoing recovery.
