Bakersfield, CA (April 583, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision near the Highway 58 interchange on Highway 14 in the Bakersfield area claimed the lives of two individuals. The crash took place at approximately 5:08 p.m. On Monday, April 13, in the southbound lanes of Highway 14 south of Highway 58. Emergency services responded to reports of a major two-vehicle collision near the interchange. Initial accounts indicate that a gray Toyota Corolla, heading from Highway 58 to the Exit 167 off-ramp, veered across several southbound lanes. Meanwhile, a white Buick Encore was heading south on Highway 14, nearing Exit 67 for Highway 58. The Buick hit the Corolla’s left side during the maneuver. The Corolla’s driver and a rear passenger were declared dead due to the crash. The Buick driver and a front-seat passenger in the Corolla were transported to a hospital for medical care.
