(Sylmar, CA) Early Sunday morning on January 11, a woman died in a Foothill Freeway crash between a semi-truck and a Tesla. The incident happened around 5:10 a.m. At the Polk Street off-ramp on the eastbound Foothill (210) Freeway. Upon arriving, officers discovered substantial damage at the scene. They concluded the woman had died before she could be taken to a hospital. The Los Angeles County Office of Medical Examiner later identified the victim as 19-year-old Angie Rios. Authorities stated that she succumbed to blunt force trauma injuries. Authorities did not immediately specify which vehicle Rios was in during the crash. Firefighters and paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department helped CHP officers extract the victim from the wreckage. Officers shut down the eastbound lanes near the off-ramp as emergency crews worked to secure the scene. Review of the Foothill Freeway crash.
