A pickup and a semitrailer were involved in a collision on northbound Interstate 5 near the Copus Road off-ramp in California on Aug. 29, 2026. The crash was reported at 4:52 p.m., approximately one mile south of the off-ramp, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch information.
An ambulance was listed as en route shortly after the collision was reported. The dispatch information did not specify whether anyone was injured or provide details about medical treatment.
By 4:53 p.m., the pickup was reported to be in the grassy center divider. The semitrailer was positioned on the right-hand shoulder of northbound I-5.
The incident was handled through the CHP’s Buttonwillow area. The available dispatch update did not identify additional vehicles, provide a cause for the collision or describe any lane closures.
