A woman was fatally injured and a man was seriously hurt on October 30, in a hit-and-run accident on Foothill Boulevard near Hansen Dam, as reported by authorities. The Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division stated that they and firefighters responded to the scene at approximately 8:34 p.m. to the 11700 block of Foothill Boulevard close to Kagel Canyon. A 46-year-old woman and a 40-year-old man were crossing the street at that moment. Suddenly, a red 2005 Honda Accord heading north hit them. According to detectives, the driver failed to stop to identify themselves or provide assistance, as the law mandates. When paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department arrived, they declared the woman dead on the spot. A man sustained severe injuries and was transported to a close hospital. The authorities are looking for the driver who fled the scene and are urging anyone with information to reach LAPD Officers Reyes or Gallo from the Valley Traffic Division or use the anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-222-8477.
