(Anaheim, CA) Authorities reported that eight track athletes from Anaheim High School were injured Tuesday afternoon, December 9, when a driver suspected of DUI swerved onto a sidewalk on North Harbor Boulevard, causing a collision. The incident occurred around 2:55 p.m. At the crossroads of North Harbor Boulevard and North Street. According to police, the students were standing on the southwest corner awaiting the light to turn. Meanwhile, a 27-year-old driver swerved off the road and hit them. All eight individuals were taken to a hospital by paramedics, suffering injuries of varying severity. Officials said the victims are expected to survive. First responders also took the driver to a hospital and later arrested them on suspicion of DUI. Anaheim police Sgt. states Matt Sutter, the driver, displayed clear indicators of being intoxicated.
