On Saturday afternoon, October 29, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m., a 74-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a three-vehicle collision near the intersection of Foxworthy and Jarvis Avenues in San Jose, California, as reported by the San Jose Police Department. On October 25, the driver of a GMC Yukon, moving east on Foxworthy Avenue, tried to overtake a Subaru Forester. While executing the maneuver, the Yukon crashed into the front of a Honda CRV that was moving in the opposite direction. The driver of the Honda, identified as Ellen Orcutt, was declared deceased at the scene by medical professionals. Her identity was confirmed by the authorities on Monday. The GMC Yukon’s driver suffered from severe injuries and was rushed to a close hospital for urgent care. No further information has been provided about the Subaru driver’s condition or any other potential injuries. An investigation is in progress to identify the causes of the fatal crash, including the possibility of unsafe passing or excessive speed contributing to the incident.
