Burbank, CA (October 27, 2025) – A two-vehicle accident on the southbound lane of Interstate 5 at West Empire Ave on Monday morning sent one person to the hospital, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The incident took place shortly after 8:00 a.m. and included a gray Mercedes sedan and a white Toyota hatchback. Early reports also indicated a white Honda Fit, but its connection is still being assessed. Following the collision, it was observed that one of the vehicles was experiencing fuel leakage, necessitating an immediate reaction from the Burbank Fire Department’s units. As a result, emergency personnel blocked the No. 5 and No. 6 lanes, providing aid to the injured individuals and ensuring the safety of the area. One individual was taken to a nearby hospital for medical care, and details about their condition remain unknown. Tow trucks were sent to clear the wrecked vehicles, causing traffic in the area to be slowed for a prolonged time. CHP officers are still looking into what caused the accident.
