Grass Valley, CA (October 20, 2025) – According to reports from the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian sustained injuries during a hit-and-run accident on Saturday evening close to the intersection of Idaho Maryland Road and Brunswick Road in Grass Valley. The event was reported at approximately 7:27 p.m. Following a report from a worried caller, authorities were notified that a male driver confessed to hitting someone in the vicinity. The driver reportedly went up to a witness at a nearby 7-Eleven and claimed that he had struck a pedestrian. Eyewitness testimonies suggested that the man might have been intoxicated during the conversation. The CHP categorized the event as a hit-and-run with injuries, designated as a 20001 incident, and officers are currently trying to find the suspect and verify specifics regarding the accident. The status of the hurt pedestrian has not been made public, and their identity has not been revealed at this time. This area of Idaho Maryland Rd close to Brunswick Rd is semi-rural, featuring both vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and the lighting is frequently inadequate during evening hours. These elements, along with the possibility of intoxication, could have played a role in the accident. The inquiry is still ongoing. Officials are requesting that anyone who has information about the event or the driver reach out to the CHP’s Grass Valley (SA) Division. Our thoughts are with the injured person, and we hope for their quick and complete recovery.
