Salinas, CA (September 30, 2025) – On Monday evening, around 5:40 p.m., a traffic accident resulting in injuries occurred at the intersection of Elkhorn Rd and Campania Way in Salinas. This incident led to the response of several fire and medical teams. The incident occurred on September 29 and involved a green sedan and a blue car, both of which were located on the street. Emergency personnel from Monterey County Fire arrived to see both vehicles remaining in their positions, with water nearby that neither blocked nor submerged either car. It is still uncertain how long the vehicles had been present prior to the call or if the people inside stayed there while responders arrived. Medical teams evaluated those involved and verified that injuries were present, but the exact details regarding the type or number of injured individuals have not been officially released. The proximity of water to the location could have complicated the response efforts, but it did not present an immediate threat. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
