Los Angeles, CA (September 27, 2025) – A bystander driver sustained injuries on Friday night when a police chase concluded with a serious crash at a crowded intersection in Pico-Union. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the accident took place at the intersection of W Pico Blvd and S Burlington Ave after a chase involving a suspect in a stolen vehicle. The situation started when police noticed a blue Lexus, which they believed to be stolen, on the southern side of the city. A chase occurred, with the suspect taking officers onto the 10 Freeway and colliding with at least two vehicles. The pursuit ended dramatically when the Lexus left the freeway and crashed into another car at the intersection of Pico Blvd and Burlington Ave in the Pico-Union area. Both cars suffered significant damage, and a tire from one of the vehicles caught fire after coming off. Emergency personnel provided medical assistance to a passenger in the affected vehicle at the location of the incident. The authorities have not provided detailed information regarding the severity of the injuries. The suspect tried to escape on foot but was swiftly caught in the parking area of a nearby establishment. LAPD detectives continue to examine evidence and question witnesses at the location as they proceed with their investigation.
