A pedestrian tragically died on Friday afternoon due to an accident on Paramount Boulevard involving a semi-truck in the 6700 block, as confirmed by officials. The incident occurred on September 19 at approximately 4:00 p.m. The Paramount Boulevard Accident took place when an individual was strolling north along the center of the road, away from any designated crosswalk. The Long Beach Police Department reported that a 2019 International truck traveling south, operated by a 51-year-old local man, hit the pedestrian. Emergency responders reached the location shortly after, but unfortunately, paramedics declared the pedestrian deceased at the site. Authorities indicated that the truck driver remained at the scene and assisted with the inquiry. Officials confirmed that speeding, distraction, or impaired driving did not seem to contribute to the accident on Paramount Boulevard. The Long Beach Police Department is still examining the case..
