A traffic collision was reported at about 2:19 p.m. Sept. 19 on southbound State Route 99 near Martin Luther King. The incident was listed as occurring just south of the roadway junction, and an ambulance was reported en route.
The California Highway Patrol’s Merced-area dispatch identified the location as southbound State Route 99 near Martin Luther King in California. The available dispatch information did not specify the number or types of vehicles involved.
In a later update at about 3:46 p.m., dispatch reported that personnel at the scene were trying to locate additional people to assist. The estimated arrival time for that assistance was approximately 45 minutes to one hour.
CHP did not provide further details about injuries, lane closures, vehicle damage or the circumstances leading to the collision in the available dispatch information. No additional roadway impact was documented in the reported updates.
