A traffic collision was reported Monday afternoon on northbound Interstate 880 near the Bascom Avenue north off-ramp in San Jose. The incident was recorded at approximately 3:05 p.m. on Aug. 31, 2026.
The California Highway Patrol described the location as northbound I-880 just south of Bascom Avenue. The dispatch information did not specify the number or types of vehicles involved.
A CHP update two minutes after the initial report stated that four people were inside a vehicle. The incident classification indicated that injuries were unknown at the time of the report.
