A pickup truck and a small sedan collided on southbound Interstate 605 just south of Peck Road in California on Aug. 28, 2026. The crash was reported at about 3:51 p.m. in the Santa Fe Springs area, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch information.
The vehicles were blocking the highway’s high-occupancy vehicle lane, creating an obstruction in the southbound lanes. CHP classified the incident as a collision with no reported injuries.
A driver was reported outside one of the vehicles and talking with the other driver shortly after the crash. The dispatch information did not identify either driver or provide additional details about the circumstances of the collision.
The initial update was recorded at 3:52 p.m. CHP dispatch information did not document any ambulance response, fire department activity, tow request or lane reopening.
