The accident was reported around 7:34 a.m. on February 24, at Center Street and Iowa Avenue. Early information described a gray Kia Seltos and a gray Chevrolet Tahoe as the vehicles involved.. Both vehicles reportedly had airbags deploy during the collision. The crash partially blocked the intersection, with the right lane affected as emergency units arrived at the scene.. One of the vehicles was described as not drivable and required a tow. Officials worked to clear the damaged vehicles from the roadway to restore normal traffic flow.. At this time, the extent of any injuries has not been confirmed.. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash, and more details will be released as soon as they become available. Our thoughts are with those affected as they continue to recover.. What Airbag Deployment Can Indicate After a Crash in San Bernardino. Airbags are designed to deploy during moderate to severe impacts. When they activate, it often means the vehicles experienced a strong force during the crash.. While airbags can reduce the risk of serious harm, their deployment may also signal significant vehicle damage. In many cases, a car with deployed airbags cannot be safely driven from the scene.. Intersection crashes in busy areas of San Bernardino can lead to lane blockages and delays. Even when traffic continues moving, partial closures may last until damaged vehicles are removed and debris is cleared from the roadway.
