San Diego, CA (February 2, 2026) – A motorcyclist sustained injuries Sunday afternoon after a crash on Torrey Pines Road in San Diego’s La Jolla neighborhood. The incident was reported around 4:51 p.m. On the twisting section of road famous for its steep inclines and tight turns, dispatch details show that a 37-year-old man was riding his motorcycle uphill at about 50 mph when he lost control. The rider allegedly swerved toward the middle of the road and was hit on the left side by another vehicle. Following the collision, he fell to the right and slid approximately 10 to 15 feet before stopping. Upon arrival of San Diego emergency responders, the motorcyclist was discovered seated on a curb beside his motorcycle, alert and conscious of the events. He mainly complained of intense pain in both arms. Responders observed abrasions on his elbows, with protective equipment such as a helmet, gloves, and riding jacket helping to prevent additional injuries. Paramedics assessed the rider on-site, stabilized his condition, and readied him for transport. He was transported to Scripps La Jolla for further medical treatment.
